Automations in SmartThings
Automations in SmartThings work using an IF condition and THEN action. This means IF an indicated thing happens THEN control a device, Scene, SmartApp, or Location setting.
Create time-based automations

From the Home Screen, select Menu (☰).

Tap Automations.

Tap +.

Select time and then specify the time, the days you want it to occur and Save.

Tap + next to Then.

Select Control devices and choose actions and save.

Name your automation and tap OK to confirm.
Create automations that trigger based on your location

From the Home Screen, select Menu (☰).

Tap Automations.

Tap +.

Select Member location and then specify the member & other conditions and tap Save.

Tap + next to Then.

Select Control devices and choose actions and save.

Name your automation and tap OK to confirm.
